EARTHLY JUDGMENT (or, THE COMMITTEE)
A series of twelve large faces which, together, represent the full gamut of the gazes that tell us the lie that we are unworthy. They serve as a profoundly apt prologue to Christ’s own journey to Golgotha, and help us to apprehend our worthiness in the sight of God.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS (or, THE VIA CRUCIS)
Each of the fourteen stages of Christ’s journey to his Crucifixion is evoked in the face of Christ, overpoweringly large and immediate.
TABERNACLE OF WOMEN
A series of twenty paintings that draw us into the experience of women from the Bible: heroines of the Old Testament such as Rachel, Deborah, Ruth, and Esther, and women on the shadow side of salvation history such as Potiphar’s wife, Delilah, and Salome; Mary and Mary Magdalene in the New Testament; and great mystical saints of the church such as Teresa of Avila and Hildegard of Bingen.
TABERNACLE OF THE PSALMS
The Tabernacle of the Psalms is a work in progress, with paintings completed for twenty-one of the Psalms.
TABERNACLE OF THE INCARNATION
Seven intimate scenes draw us into the experience of the young woman who accepted the invitation to be the very tabernacle in which “the Word was made flesh and dwelt—tabernacled—among us,” as we read in the Prologue of John’s Gospel.
